Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention

Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention is an 8-week evidence-based program that combines mindfulness meditation with relapse prevention skills to support recovery from addictive behaviors.

MBRP helps participants to recognize and stay with discomfort (physical, cognitive and emotional) as opposed to reactively reaching for a "fix."

Most of our time together will be spent in practice — learning and doing, not just talking.

Who is this for?

This program is open to adults in recovery from addictive behavior. No prior mindfulness or meditation experience is necessary.

Course Structure

The Live Online MBRP program consists of:

  • Eight weekly classes, 2 hrs each

    • Instruction in formal and informal MBRP meditation practices

    • Gentle stretching and mindful yoga

    • Structured group dialogue

  • One optional All-Day class on a Saturday

  • Daily home practice assignments (a real but manageable commitment)

  • Online resource materials, included guided meditations.

  • The opportunity for one-on-one check-ins with the instructor throughout the course

Class sizes are limited to facilitate group connection and conversation. A computer and high-speed internet connection are required.  Mobile devices such as phones and tablets are not recommended.

*This program is offered at no cost, with one condition: that you show up. Participants are expected to attend all weekly sessions and engage with home practice. The group depends on each member's presence and commitment to work.
